Nadal Joined PTT In Easing Global Warming Ahead Of “PTT Thailand Open 2010”
Today, September 28, 2010, Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop, Deputy Prime Minister Acting Advisory Chairman of the Committees Organizing the Events To Honor His Majesty The King’s 60th Anniversary Coronation and 84th Birthday Anniversary in 2011, chaired the Reforestation Ceremony to honor His Majesty The King under the “1 Million Trees For King Project” held by PTT Group incorporated with the Group’s Executive Managements and Mr. Rafael Nadal, the world’s top rank tennis player who will be competing at PTT Thailand Open 2010. The reforestation activity will be held at the Animal Hospital, Kasetsart University, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
Mr. Tevin Vongvanich, Chief Financial Officer of PTT Public Company Limited, revealed about today’s activities under the “1 Million Trees For King Project” at Prachuap Khiri Khan Province that it’s considered the fourth consecutive reforestation activities following the three previous events in Nakhon Ratchasima, Rayong, and Surat Thani Provinces respectively. The local community also joined the reforestation activity at the Kasetsart University’s Animal Hospital, Hua Hin Campus. The Hospital is also the animal’s fully integrated research and rehabilitation center which was sponsored by the Military and involved organizations in order to honor the King on the auspicious occasion of The King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary in 2007. Today’s reforestation activity was more special compared to the previous three events since the world’s No.1 tennis player, Rafael Nadal, who sees the importance in taking part in easing the global warming problem, will join the reforestation activity to honor His Majesty The King. Nadal will then later compete in the PTT Thailand Open Tournament between September 26 to October 3, 2010 at Impact Arena, Muangthong Thani, Bangkok.
Under the “1 Million Trees For King Project”, PTT Group also gave away free young plants to interested individuals throughout the country since June this year. Thais were also invited to announce their devotion on how to conserve forests and ease the ongoing global warming problems by writing one’s ways or techniques on the “imitated plant leaf” or via on-line forest plantation at www.milliontreesforking.com. The list of 1 million names with their devotions will be presided over to His Majesty The King. Every on-line trees planted via the mentioned web site was actually planted by PTT Group together with the local communities in Nakhon Ratchasima, Rayong, Surat Thani, and Prachuap Khiri Khan Provinces respectively. Later, the forest plantation activity will also be held in Lampang Province in the North of Thailand.
